About Dr. Sanjeev Kumar & The Alleged Sexual Abuse

Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, a Memphis-based gynecologist, built his career on the trust of his patients, only to betray that trust in the most unforgivable ways. Federal prosecutors now call him a “predator in a white coat,” accusing him of using his position as a doctor to sexually abuse patients, perform medically unnecessary procedures, and commit fraud against government healthcare programs.

According to the indictment, between 2019 and 2024, Kumar lured multiple women across state lines under the guise of medical care, only to subject them to invasive and inappropriate procedures without medical justification. Patients trusted him to provide care, but instead, they endured trauma, deception, and abuse disguised as treatment.

Beyond the physical and psychological harm inflicted on his victims, Kumar also engaged in medical fraud and dangerous malpractice. Prosecutors allege that he reused unsanitary medical devices meant for single use, putting patients at risk for infections and complications. Meanwhile, he billed Medicare and Medicaid for brand-new equipment, profiting off the very people he harmed.

Authorities have reason to believe that more victims may still be out there. The FBI has urged any former patients who suspect they were mistreated by Dr. Kumar to come forward. If you were one of them, know this, you are not alone.
